In February 1978 sporadic demonstrations happened in Rey which sometimes began from holy shrine and ended in the same place. In the joint meeting of clergymen with revolutionary forces, it was decided that gorgeous demonstration of 18th Dey be staged and abundant people were present. They moved to the downtown and all shops were closed. After reaching central square, they were stopped by forces and movement continued in Zakaria street. Suddenly shootings began and some were martyred and wounded.
