the ''GOD'' to the indefinit power of the God the almighty,and help them toget the knowledg of the universe existance and also the decipline governing the wonderful phenomena in the earth as well as in the heaven.

Astronomy activities and researches of the ancient Ray and also providing educational and scientific pacilities,four the poverty striken youth in southern Tehran,took action to estabelish one of the most eqiuped research and educational centers in Ray.
The building of the Astronomy center of the holy shrine,designed by Iranian specialist campanics,has an sustructure area of 250 square meters.
This center consists of two observatories,specialty library,photo
graphy labratory,calender center,computer site,audio-visul unite,and the exhibition(fair)and was put to operation simultaneous with the hunderedth year of Hazrat-e-Imam Khomeni(RA)on Shahrivar 22,
1378(solar Hegira)with the presence of estimable president of Islamic Republic,Hojatul-Eslam va(Moslemin Seyed Muhammad Khatami.
Abdul Rahman Sophi Razi observatory
Abdul Rahman Sophi Razi,one of the famous scientist and astronomist in Iran and the world(named
ZUFI in NASA's glossary)
was born in 282(luner Hegira)in Shahr-e-Ray.He managed to observe some celestial bodies without a telescope e.g.He was the first scientist who saw Andro meda galaxy(chained lady)and registered its discovery under his name.
Estimating the meridian of Shiraz,initiating the science of photometry in stars,making a model of celestial globe indicating the precise positions of the celestial bodies(it is located in Cairo's museum)are some of his scientific activities.He also wrote book''Sovarul Kavakeb''
it is worth saying that some of the meteor mouths in the moon located in the southern circle of 22 degre and meridian of 13degre
are registered with his name.this researcher passed away in Shiraz in 365(luner Hegira)and was buried in the same city.The observatory of the holy shrine of Hazrat-e-Abdul Azim is honored by Sophi's name to appereciate his high scientific rank.
This observatory has a circulating dome with a diamenter of 4meter and one meter openable trop-door eqipped with a refract
ional telescope(celestronr ED7-180)with a focus distance of 1000 mm and the object lense diametery of 180mm.this telescope which has a magnifying power of 30 to 500(with the help of Barlo lenze)is equepped with a special compact computer(NG-Max)and a pedal
(movement control device)with which the observation of the celestial bodies is possible,just entering their astronomical coordinatest.
This telescope is also eqipped with a CCD(computer detector)of ST8 connecting the telescope to a computer with which the electronic graph of the celestial bodies can be registered and analized on the computer.
Observator of Abu Mahmood Khajand-e-Razi's era
Abu Mahmud Khezr-e-Khajand-e-Razi was one of great scientist in the fourth century.He was scientific genius of his epoch in Mathmatics,Astronomy,astrolable techniques and astronomical instruments.He lived in Azadul Doleh Deylami's epoch in Ray and erected the hexagonal(six sided)observatory knoen as Sods-e-
Fakhri in the name of Fakhrud-Doleh Deilami.

The observatory of Abu Mohammad Khojand Razi's era in Astronomy center of the holy shrine consist of a hexagonal room and a dome with a diameter of 6m and the antique observation instruments such as:''mural quarant(circle)''or Rob-e-italic jedari
previously used to measure the sun's altitute, religious noon time
(prayer's time)and different seasons and italic Zatalsha-batin''
ptolemy's rule(triquetrum)used to measure the altitute of celestial bodies(moon,stars,planets)from the horizon.

There is a particular lobrotory for development and printing of color and black and white photos with all equipment needed such as solutions etc,in order to take photographs of celestial bodies(by the telescope)for the photos exhibitions and shows.sofar,alot of photos such as''viewing of the crescent''solar and luner eclipse and images of the moon and other solar system planets and the nebulas(star-clouds)have bee shown in these exhibitions.

In this work shop the students and researchers will learn the knowledge of calenders and history of initiation of solar,luner and christion calenders.
Educational courses
The astronomy center of the holy shrine officially began his activity in 1379(2000 AD)presenting courses for the students of Olum-e-
Hadith(Hadith knowledge)and the next step it presented different courses(fundemental Astronomy,spherical Astronomy calculationao astronomy,Astronomical photography geology and meteology)under supervisio
n of Astronomy experts for all interested students,graduators,Tolab(knowledge seekers)and for ther people (men and women) in 1380(2001)
At the end of these courses special certificates will be issued to graduated students.

instruments like GPS,planetarium,theodolite,bino culars,telescope,CCD(computer detector),
Radio and spherical telescope to interested people.
Observatio Archivities and Astronomical Seminars
Graduaters,in addition to attending theoretical courses,will learn the practical aspects of Astronomy in nightly observation programs or in the groups of''crescent viewing''.
There are also seminars for different occasions and seasons in the presence of experts and professors of the country,about astronomical science and events.
