Borhanieh (Antique) school is one of the schools beside holy shrine of Hazrat-e-Abdul Azim of which history goes back to Saljuqid era.
Activities in Borhan school was stopped in Reza khan's period and its building began to collapse, later, in 1364(Lunar Hegira) the remained building was destructed and rebuilt by Hodjat-ul-Islam-val-Moslemin Haj Sheikh Akbar Borhani as it was ordered by late Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Hodjat and the supreme leader of the Shiite world Ayatollah-el-Ozma Seyed Abul Hassan-e-Esfahani supported by Ayatollah Kashani, the school was reopened after 2 years and in the inauguration day A’yat-e-E’zam (supreme Ayatollahs)of Tehran and other cities such as, Seyed Mohammad Behbahani, Haj Sheikh Mohammad Taqi Amoli, Seyed habatudin Shahrestani former Iraqi science and knowledge minister and others, participated.
The late Haj Akbar-e-Borhan the school principal passed away in 1379(lunar Hegira) in Mecca and was buried in Jeddah’s cemetery.
Soon after, Sheikh Mohammad Reza Broojerdi the founder of Sedokhtaran cemetery in Shar-e-Ray resided in the school and was active in teaching the children and young adults of Shahr-e-Ray but in Rezakhan period when most of Tollab(plural of Talabeh)were banned in wearing clergic clothes and the theological schools were closed, they changed the name of this school to Taherieh in which Modern science(not theological subjects)were taught.
At the early era of the Islamic Revolution the Management and the custodianship of this school were given to late Haj Mr. Rafiei
up to the end of 1368(1989);when Haj Mr. Taj Abadi was appointed as the manager of the school by the chief custodianship . In1370 (1991) the school had to be rebuilt and altered therefore the students (Tollab) were transferred to Hozeh-e-Elmieh-e-Abdul Azim to continue their study.
The new building of Hozeh-e-Borhan with an area of about 5000m2 was ready to begin its activity in the year 1382(2003).
